After heavy snowstorms and downpours, it was surprising that a heatwave was next. For almost a week, London's temperatures were well above 20°C and the timing couldn't have been better as the heatwave started after my exams had ended. After a boozy brunch at Berners Tavern, my friend and I walked around Regent's Park to soak up the sunshine and catch the last of the cherry blossoms. Not going to lie, it felt strange to wear such a Summer-y outfit in the middle of April, but I welcomed the opportunity to get my pins out for a change. I haven't properly planned and shopped for my Summer wardrobe yet, but this outfit is definitely a good starting point as I can foresee myself wearing a lot of floaty white tops, gingham and straw bags in the Summer.

This Zara top is a dupe for the LPA button up ruffle tank, which I've admired on a few bloggers that I follow but couldn't justify the hefty price tag, so luckily Zara came to the rescue. Square necklines and horn/tortoiseshell buttons are really big this Spring/Summer and I'm digging both as I like their retro vibes. I paired the top with a pair of Zara gingham paper bag shorts that I got in the Christmas / Boxing Day / January sale last year. I'm also into paper bag trousers and shorts because they give a different silhouette but are still figure flattering. As for accessories, I'm still in love with the Ellen & James round straw bag that I got last Summer, which actually goes with a lot of things!
